iPhone and Apple specs before you sell

Why does the exact model matter when you sell?

Apple often sells several versions under one name in the same year, with different chips, storage or connectivity. Two "iPhone 15 Pro" phones, or two "14-inch MacBook Pro" laptops, can be worth very different amounts.

A model identifier (such as iPhone16,1 or MacBookPro18,3) and a model number (an A-number like A2848) tell you exactly which version you have. iPhone and iPad show them in Settings > General > About; Macs in About This Mac or System Information; Apple Watch in the Watch app on the paired iPhone.

Each spec page lists every configuration sold, how to confirm the model and a link to sell it. Comparison pages explain how neighboring models differ and which usually resells for more.
